Roslyn, Wow! That is a long post – probably longer than a lot of my long ones I have posted on this board. No, you haven’t rambled. Already you seem to be becoming comfortable with this way of communicating. Please get a copy of the Seat of the Soul and read. You will definitely like it. I used to read a number of spiritual and self-development books before reading the Seat of the Soul. But, afterward I don’t really feel like reading any other books than Gary’s. Obviously this hesitation cannot be treated at the same level as anger, jealousy, greed, impatience, superiority complex, inferiority complex, hatred, arrogance, self-pity, vengefulness, guilt, etc. which are all controlled by frightened parts. Roslyn, I live in the US. I now understand what kind of fear you were referring to. I am wondering whether this should be even considered fear as in a frightened part. It is a discomfort in using the Internet to communicate with others instead of in person. If you communicate a few more times, this uncomfortable feeling is going to disappear. I am interested in knowing if a frightened part is behind this hesitation. If it is not, what should this be characterized as? What do you think? Also I would appreciate it if others could jump in and contribute their ideas. With love and trust, |

Roslyn, Welcome. You are in the right place. Feel the fear, but act from love. The essence of authentic power is to distinguish within yourself between love and fear, and always choose love no matter what is happening inside or outside of you. Karel, I started to read Gary’s books when I was in the 40’s. I have always felt I wish I knew Gary’s ideas decades earlier. I can totally understand how you feel if you learned his ideas in your late 70’s. And, I want to echo Shelley’s emotion: Wow, Karel! That’s pretty profound for someone new to Gary and Linda’s teachings. Shelley, I couldn’t attend last month’s call. I listened to it yesterday after Gary and Linda posted the recording on this site. Ami, Can you elaborate on what you are trying to convey regarding the list of your statements each between two asterisks and within parentheses? The statements between two asterisks appear to be loving parts and those within parentheses to be frightened parts. I assume those are the frightened parts that you are overwhelmed with now. Maria, I completely agree with Tim that reading the Seat of the Soul book and experimenting with the contents would be very helpful, as it was in my case. More specifically, the last chapter on Trust was extremely helpful to me when I was desperate like you. Especially the following from that chapter helped me so much that I like to share it here. A soul incarnates not only to heal, to balance its energy and to pay its karmic debts, but also to contribute its specialness in specific ways to the needs of the Earth school, by entering into a sacred agreement with the Universe. All of my life experiences serve to awaken within me the memory of that contract and to prepare me to fulfill it. I have to learn all the lessons I need to learn in order to fulfill it. Authentic empowerment and the fulfillment of the soul’s task upon the Earth are not separate dynamics. Authentic empowerment is necessary to accomplish fully the mission of the soul, yet as I move into authentic empowerment, I move toward the fulfillment of my soul’s agreement with the Universe, and as I move toward that fulfillment – as I move consciously toward the energy of my soul – I empower myself. I and the work of my soul upon the Earth expand together. As one grows and develops, so does the other. When the deepest part of me becomes engaged in what I am doing, when my activities and actions become gratifying and purposeful, when what I do serves both myself and others, when I do not tire within but seek the sweet satisfaction of my life and my work, I am doing what I was meant to be doing. The personality that is engaged in the work of its soul is buoyant. It is not burdened with negativity. It does not fear. It experiences purposefulness and meaning. It delights in its work and in others. It is fulfilled and fulfilling. I wish you all the best in knowing the meaning in this life. With love and trust, |
