Hi Shelly, sometimes seeing how another handles stress gives you both motivation and insight. I try to control my emotions and don’t see myself as reacting negatively to what others say or do, why should I because enlightened souls are careful in what they say or do and what ever an unconscious person says and does, I just don’t react to. What I say of do in response rarely changes an unconscious person. It’s usually just a waste of energy that sets me up for more pain. If I do try to say something to an unconscious person, whether or not the unconscious person acts favorably does not matter. I merely gave it my best shot and I have no regrets. |

This is an older post but it speaks to me because David noted that certain fearful parts of him caused him to judge a coworker unfavorably. He reminded himself that the coworker was a soul having value beyond his mistakes just as he had value beyond his mistakes, and made an intention to act on this new awareness. Perhaps David could first note his own mistakes to his coworker and how they were corrected, then with courage and as a courtesy warn his coworker, without going to his boss, to be more aware of the fact that some of his actions seemed to be potentially harmful and why.

Pam Thank you for your well needed social work. My wife was a social worker long before we met, but lacked the necessary compassion for unwed mothers who would keep having children when already burdened with poverty and the agency’s apparent tolerance. If she had not changed her career and become a hairdresser, she would probably not met me. As for how to create a more loving and peaceful world, my passion is to make social guidance freely available, particularly to troubled souls. It is partly the reason why I have a team called “A Wholesome Inspirational Healthy & Joyous Life” team. |

Susan and Patricia, I’m new also having just read Gary and Linda’s book The Mind of the Soul just this week. Hope to be active and share my journey here as well. I feel that in the United States, we all have to do a lot of soul searching to understand how to reach out to troubled souls to reduce any impulsiveness to violent acts of evil. It all starts with making helpful information freely available and spreading cheerful words of compassion for others regardless of their earthly suit that they have inherited, grown into, or adopted. I will make this my passion. |

Hi all. I’m new to this forum. Have read The Mind of the Soul in 3 days and loved it. Will look into reading The Seat of the Soul soon. I understand the advice to avoid caretaking unless someone asks for advice. I am a leader of the “A Wholesome Inspirational Healthy and Joyous Life” team on the http://www.SparkPeople.com site and some feed back was that I preached too much about what people should do even though I believed that I was merely giving good information. Gary reminds us that we all are souls that need to grow and growth is best achieved from looking within one self and questioning ones own intentions, rather than blindly following another’s advice. I think it is fine to post information if one adds how the knowledge help themselves grow. That would not seem to be preaching. This is all a new experience to me though.
