Dear community-members,
I have decided to discontinue my membership of the APLC. The reason is that I oppose from my heart Gary’s view that our parents are, by definition, our best supporters, and the souls that are closest to us. Gary makes no distinction between healthy and abusive parents. Parents who kill, abuse or exploit their children are, clearly, not their children’s best supporters. Gary has stated that parents who are abusive may act, from the perspective of the soul, in their children’s best interest, because they may enable their children’s souls to settle a karmic debt. Gary thus sends out, in my opinion, an incorrect and potentially dangerous message: namely that abusive parents are supportive of their children. This is a highly misleading messge and detrimental to the plight of the millions of children worldwide that are abused by their parents daily. I would like to thank from my heart everyone who took part in the discussions, especially the members I had conversations with and who offered support. I wish you all the very best.
