Hi Spiritual Partners,

When I look at when and what situations I am in my frightened part I came up with this list. I am so unconscious at times that I don’t know I was in a frightened part till later.

How do I know when I am in my frightened part?

1.When I am in a role

2.When I am taking sides

3.When I am in my habits

4. When I am lying

5.When I am covering up

6.When I am judging and blaming

7.When I am a victim

8.When I hate someone or something

9.When I have strong beliefs and not willing to consider others perspective.

10.When I label

11.When I assume I know

12.When I take things or people for granted

13.When I wish someone to be different than who they are

For me the crux appears to be trying at some level thought or deed to control manipulate the external world (people, things and circumstances) to avoid feeling pain or fear. It appears to be motivated by fear.

Dear Radhika, I feel that you are able to name frightened parts of your personality. Practicing scanning your energy centers will help you to identify the pain that you carry in your body when a frightened part is active. Have you remembered to scan your energy centers?

Dear Carol,

I do scan my energy centers. I do feel the pain associated with frightened parts. Most of the time I do have pain in 1 or more energy centers associated with these thoughts. Sometimes I know a frightened part is active even when I don’t feel any pain. Some of these are very subtle and I had become accustomed to my fears.

Hi Radhika,

Do you notice what your thoughts are when you feel that you have an active frightened part but don’t feel any pain?

Hi Carol,

My thoughts are always not the same. Mostly they are fear. Fear of not meeting mine or someone elses expectations. I usually feel a wall of thoughts. There is a lot of resistance to life with thoughts of how, when and where I want life to be. When I sense that it is not happening the way I had envisioned I am in fear. These reactions have become so automatic that I don’t catch them till way later. I am learning about myself a lot.

Peace and Love
Radhika
