My name is Bruce Plante and I am a 56 year old recently retired teacher. I have three grown sons from a 24 year marriage that formally ended 11 years ago. My eldest son, Joshua, was just married in Tofino, BC this past week and it was a powerful experience for me. I had not had much contact with my sons’ mother since the end of our marriage. Watching our son marry his beautiful wife, Lyndsey, was intensely moving, but many feelings overwhelmed me. Although I experienced a degree of joy and wonder at what was unfolding, I found that feelings of sadness and loneliness dominated. Seeing so many others in loving relationships joyfully celebrating over the course of the week made my feelings more acute than usual. I felt selfish and defective because it was so difficult for me to join in the spirit of celebration.

Hi Bruce,

Day five, I am here to introduce you to myself. It’s nice to meet you here on this journey to create authentic power. Unfortunately, I too feel sadness and loneliness. Certaintly, I can relate. For me too, it’s been so difficult to fully join in the spirit of things.

I am 56 years old, too… How wonderful for you to have three grown sons. :), :), :). I have a teen daughter. πŸ™‚ Also, I continue to be in a 24 year non-sexual marriage. So, there you have my perspective on things. :/.

Hopefully, the Spiritual Partnership Guidelines will help both of us learn to have joy and wonder without having to feel those selfish and defective attachments to our external power. So, I propose that we commit to finding that imortal spot that occupies a space in the vicinity of our chest cavities, together.

With Love and Compassion,

Margie
