Hello, I did have a question. I see quite a few discussions which talk about frightened parts and where / what you are feeling in the body. Where should I learn about these things? Is it from the books and videos mostly or in an e-course? Thank you in advance for your help. I look forward to being part of this community. |

Thank you Catherine! I have been listening to the books while I drive. I don’t think I’ve experienced them fully (between traffic and my mind drifting).. so just ordered the actual books. π |

Perfect!! Just downloaded Spiritual Partnership- thanks Joel Anne. I am swimming in Mr. Zukav’s books. lol– I experience the same thing with his books, each paragraph seems to have a new insight. There is so much to learn but I feel like I’m having more clarity around it all. Also, experiences and people in my life seem to be teaching me the same things, which I find interesting. Do you find this happens as well? Seems like the universe is in sync. Thank you for the welcome and helpful info. |

Yes Stephanie, I do find when I am open and listening that I get the same message from multiple sources. And I do believe the UNIVERSE is in sync with us on our journey. Thanks for sharing! Joel Anne |

Stephanie, Here is one more option in addition to the ones indicated by the other spiritual partners (in case you didn’t already know). Please click on the link All Teachings at the top of the Home page (next to Members Home) and then click on View Topic List on the right side. In the alphabetical list you will see Frightened Parts of the Personality. If you click on it, the corresponding videos show up. Since this concept is at the very heart of Gary’s teachings, there happen to be a large number of videos (on the other hand, the first entry Abandonment, for example, has only 4 videos). The titles of the videos give you an idea as to whether you might want to listen to a given one right away or not. However, there is one titled Parts of the Personality. You might want to start with it to get some quick idea on this central concept and then move on to the others of your interest, of course, in addition to reading The Seat of the Soul, The Heart of the Soul or The Spiritual Partnership. With love and trust, |

Yes Catherine, you are right! Thank you all for such a wealth of info. I’m a little gun shy with forums like this.. the only one I ever tried I got kicked off right away because I introduced myself to other members first before the moderator :-/ oops! So.. thank you Catherine, Sundar, and Joel Anne for your kind reception π I received the books and am finding the questions at the end of each Heart of the Soul chapter helpful to understanding feeling emotions and frightened parts. I also am working on the e-course with the Spiritual Partnership Book and watching the videos. I’m finding it hard to concentrate on work because I’m loving diving into this! I’m curious how long you all have been working on this, what tools you have used and how it has changed your lives. Please let me know if I should move this to a different category in the forum.. π Have a wonderful day, |

Stephanie, thank you for sharing and for your question. I am thrilled for you that you are reading the book and doing the questions, in addition to the e-course. It’s so meaningful, I understand that you would become distracted from work. For me, I discovered Seat of the Soul in 2008, so I have been learning more over the past years. I always attend the 5-day summer retreat. I also joined a program that went on for 3 years, before a short break, and now I’m doing the Master Class Immersion since 2015. This means I go to Oregon three times a year–once for the main retreat in July then two more times for the Master Class meetings in Portland. I love this regularity because I am able to practice creating authentic power with the direct support of Gary and Linda, of course, but also with spiritual partners. It’s been quite a journey, learning a lot about myself. Not always comfortable, because frightened parts of the personality don’t like to be challenged! In the Master Class, I also participate on the monthly calls and write regular “life explorations.” This keeps me “honest” π I find that I can easily forget about the need to live consciously and to create authentic power if I am not in a supportive framework. As for moving this discussion elsewhere, it’s really up to you. Later you might find that you want to write about something else and then you could create a new topic. There’s no rule that I know of for topics. Especially no rule like the one you mentioned. It sounds to me like there were frightened parts of someone’s personality active in the other forum. I would love to know how you came across Seat of the Soul and what motivated you to pick it up again. I’m glad you’re here and hope we have a chance to connect on the phone in a breakout group at some point. With love, |

I am so grateful for your sharing Catherine and to read how meaningful this way of being is to your life. I am hoping to connect and form some spiritual partners along this journey. I picked up Seat of the Soul back in college- maybe 1993 or so? I was in Humanities classes and reading a lot about natural law- morality – consciousness etc.. when I saw the book in a bookstore. When I read it I felt an excitement like – yes! finally THIS makes sense!!! Then life happened and honestly I probably cared more about partying and the book went into my closet with the rest of them. But I never forgot it. Fast forward a couple decades (oof) and i came to a decision, through some profound experiences and a spiritual partner/teacher who came into my life, that I wanted to pursue love over fear and understand my true place in this world . It hasn’t been easy- and I’ve been struggling but I am committed to this path.- I found the book again on Audible and remembered how powerful it was and it brought me here. I truly feel I am just following bread crumbs – and they are yummy ..:-) I’m relieved to finally be in a place where others are speaking my language! I am signed up for summer Portland -hope to see you there! 😊 |

Stephanie, thank you for sharing. Isn’t it amazing how life events brought you back to what matters most and to this community of people who are all committed to spiritual growth. I understand how challenging it must be for you to renew your early commitment. For myself, in my younger years I was committed to a spiritual life as it had been modeled for me, and this model was so full of fear that I left it altogether until finding a more loving path many years later. I have had to develop trust not only in others but also in myself. Every day I feel challenges, some stronger than others, but I persevere knowing that each challenge is an opportunity to create authentic power if I choose to do so. When I look back, I can measure some distance from what I experienced and believed just a few years ago and what I am living now. For instance, I have been able to develop greater self awareness, which is the very basis for transformation. With awareness I have the ability to choose whether I react in fear and bring about destructive consequences or respond with love and compassion, even with humor, and so can bring joy into my life. I have also been practicing patience, appreciation, gratitude, peacefulness in relation to other humans and other beings. There are so many opportunities for growth! I look forward to meeting you in person at the Journey this summer π |
