We all have spiritual partners on earth and in the spiritual plane. My mother released her physical form on this day, April 18th, 2008 which was six years ago. She is now one of my eternally enlightened spiritual guides. I felt guided today to join this community because it speaks to my soul. Gary and Linda are two that I consider to be spiritual mentors to me so that would make you my fellow proteges or brothers and sisters. I am grateful to be in community with you and I am looking forward to contributing my gifts and receiving yours. I inherited my mother’s gift of poetry writing and the wisdom behind it. And so I am reminded of a poem that we read at her homegoing services that she wrote called “Love Today” and the essence of it is for us to chose to love each and every day. Hello Deborah, and welcome! I loved reading about your connection with your mother and I feel grateful to be part of this journey with you.
This past Sunday I was hosting a writer from France whose parents passed on years ago, and at a shrine that we visited he lit a candle for them. Afterwards, he shared his experience with me: he had told them that they should look around and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of this shrine. He also shared with me that his parents are always with him and that he talks to them every day. I so enjoyed hearing about this connection and felt grateful to know him. Such experiences remind me to be open and not believe frightened parts of my personality that perceive separation rather than connection.
